About Us
Kevin Coakley
Mr. Coakley is a 1997 graduate of the University of Florida College of Law. He has focused his entire law career in the areas of personal injury and insurance. The practice of law is Mr. Coakley’s second career. He is a 1980 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, originally practicing as a chiropractic physician in Methuen, Massachusetts before opening his own practice in Brandon in 1984. His 14 years as a health care provider grant him both an understanding of his clients’ injuries and treatment, as well as a compassion for the challenges presented by these injuries.
Upon moving to Brandon in 1984, Mr. Coakley joined the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, Civitan, and volunteered at the Brandon YMCA. Mr. Coakley was Civitan’s candidate for honorary mayor in the late 1980s. He’s unsure of the year, but clear on the point that he did not win! Mr. Coakley spent many years on the Board of Directors for the Brandon YMCA, with some of that time serving as chairman.
In addition to his service with various civic organizations, in his role as Dr. Coakley, he held numerous offices with the Hillsborough County Chiropractic Society. While at the University of Florida College of Law, Mr. Coakley graded on to Law Review, an honor bestowed upon the top 5% of students after one year of study. His interest in the area of personal injury was reinforced while clerking in the firm of Avera & Avera as a law student. In December of 1997, Mr. Coakley returned to Brandon and began working for Larry Keys, PA., eventually merging into the Keys & Coakley firm.
